League Changes for 08
Our leagues will be going through some
changes this year. So heres the final skinny on this summer.
Oshtemo
The Oshtemo league will meet on Wednesday
nights in 08. The format will be the same except the women will have a higher
cap on strokes
Broadway
The Wed league which was originally
scheduled to start March 12 at Robert Morris, will start March 10 at Meyer
Broadway. This league will be played primarily at Meyer Broadway but will make
occasional trips to other courses. The format will remain the same with the
women getting a higher cap on strokes here also.
Open Source
We are making the switch! Some of you have noticed the new format for
the newsletters. The reason is we are switching from Microsoft Office to Open
Office. We still aren't completely switched over but it is an ongoing process.
As we recover files from the recent crash we are switching to the Open Office
format.
Open Office is a free alternative to MS Office that you can download from the
web. So far we have been making use of it for about 6 months and were convinced
its a great alternative to Microsoft. Check it out yourself at

Cracked Plastic Classic
Congrats to all our members who played the CPC, particularly those who
played Sunday in brutal conditions. Below are their names how they played.
Mark Roberts played both days placing fourth in the Pro-Master's on
Saturday and 10th in the Advanced on Sunday. Chas Ford also played
both days finishing 21st in the Open on Sunday and 10th in
the Pro-Masters on Saturday. To give you an idea of how brutal Sunday was Mark
and Chas's scores were both more then 20 strokes worse then Saturday's scores.
Mike Broberg and Chris Wagner played Saturday. Mike finished second in
the recreational division while Chris placed 14th in the
Intermediate.
On Sunday Tate Handy(T-16th), Mike Buist(20th),
Adrian Strebs(27th) all played Advanced.
Mark Ellis(3rd), Leonard Johnson(5th) and Scott
Wilson(2nd) all played Grand Master's, sort of. Seems the GM's being
older and wiser decided that one round was enough for them in the brutal
conditions. In a unanimous decision the old guys decided to play the second
round bellied up to the bar at Bell's and off they went including the winner Joe
Gill! Here's a link to the results
